Alentejo is a region of unique characteristics. It´s a region to which is uimpossible to remain indifferent…by its landscape, handcraft made of cork and the simplicity of a gastronomy lo limited by the amount of ingredients and so complex in an explosion of flavors led by the imagination on the mix of aromatic herbs.
Évora, the capital, with only 50000 inhabitants it’s a charming city which historic center is an UNESCO world heritage site.
She´s known as the museum-city because as we walk through her streets we can appreciate monuments and squares where a 2000 year´s old history was written.
Évora is also an university city, the second oldest one in the country, and between her Cathedral, Giraldo Square and Diana temple, it´s natural to meet the students who give a lively atmosphere to the city.
Be brave and don´t miss one of the spookiest chapels in Portugal, The Bone Chapel, with the walls covered with human skulls and bones.

We´ll visit Cartuxa, situated in an old Jesuit´s house, and famous for producing wines of excellent quality and the superb Pêra Manca, one of Portugal´s finest wines.
