This day will be fully dedicated to your faith.
We’ll leave Lisbon heading to Fátima so that you can visit the Sanctuary built around the place where in 1917 the Virgin Mary appeared to the three little shepherds. After the visit to the Basilica where the three children are buried, we’ll meet the Apparition Chapel and its story and we will also visit the modern and imposing Holy Trinity Church. As we know that you need time to individually experience Fátima, we’ll give you some free time so that you can pray, light a candle, attend a mass or whatever you prefer, providing you all the schedules of celebrations. We will also visit the “Light and peace” exhibition (depending of availability – need to book in advance), where you’ll be able to see, amongst other gifts, a crown with the bullet that almost killed Pope John Paul II in the 1981 attempt in the Vatican.
We will also visit the nearby village of Aljustrel where the three little shepherds were born and we’ll visit their houses, so that you can also understand their simple life style and how the region houses were built in the beginning of the 20th century. After all these emotions we will still visit the Parish Church of Fátima where the three children were baptized and the local cemetery where the brothers Francisco and Jacinta Marto were initially buried.
