  • Biggest wave ever surfed
  • Gothic monastery of Batalha
  • Shrine of Fatima

We will leave Lisbon, heading to Óbidos, a charming medieval town inside its walls, where we must taste a traditional drink of the region, a ginjinha, which is a cherry liquor served in a chocolate cup (yummy!).

Afterwards, Nazaré is our next stop, it’s an old pilgrimage place where we will visit the chapel that has witnessed a miracle, surrounded by a landscape that will take our breath away. it has been a fishermen’s town for centuries, so this is just the right place to taste the portugues fish and seafood. But recently Nazaré became a legend because a 100 feet wave was surfed there, the biggest ever surfed in the world by McNamara.

After lunch, we will continue our trip heading to Batalha Monastery, declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, one of the best examples of Flamboyant Gothic and a real symbol of Portuguese Independence.

Last but not least, we will visit one of the biggest Sanctuaries in the world dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the Shrine of Fátima, where Virgin Mary appeared to three little shepherds in 1917, and still today it attracts millions of visitors each year.
