Explore Sintra, a charming village declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the capital of Portuguese romanticism, and renowned for its stunning monuments. Choose to visit one of the three most symbolic palaces perfectly integrated into nature: the Palace of the Village (a royal residence from the 14th century), the Pena Palace (a royal residence from the 19th century), or the Palace and Quinta da Regaleira (an aristocratic esoteric delirium from the 20th century). But getting to know a village also means tasting its flavors, so you can try a regional sweet treat here.
During our visit, we’ll go through the Sintra Mountains and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, heading towards the westernmost point of continental Europe, Cabo da Roca, at 420 feet above sea level. We’ll see the beautiful Guincho beach and arrive at the village of Cascais, a summer retreat for the royal family and aristocracy since the 19th century, known for its bay where fishing boats can still be seen today.
We’ll return to Lisbon, passing along the coast near the gardens of Estoril, where the largest casino in Europe stands, a venue for many spy meetings during World War II.
Pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or agreed-upon location, private 8-hour tour with an official interpreter guide, Mercedes with a professional driver, ticket to your preferred palace, queijada (a local pastry), travel insurance.
