To really know a city, you have to feel it: listen to it, smell it and go through its streets, to meet some of its local inhabitants and to taste some of its flavors.

Cada bairro de Lisboa tem uma atmosfera diferente e conta-nos uma parte diferente da História. Get ready to be guided by a true “alfacinha” (little lettuce), the nickname of the inhabitants of Lisbon, and explore the city of the seven hill the best way possible: by foot!

This tour will cover the historical districts like: the Baixa (the downtown), with the beautiful squares of Rossio and Comércio, completely rebuilt after the tragic earthquake of 1755; Chiado, the most elegant hill of Lisbon where you will find old shops and bookshops where the nobility would go to do their shopping; and Alfama, the oldest and most picturesque district of the city, with the labyrinthic narrow streets and its façades covered with glazed tiles, where all neighbors know each other, the children play in the streets, and the perfume of sardines is always present!

We will take a taxi or an uber to get to the Belém district, from which, in the 16th century, Portuguese navigators set sail in search of the New World. Here, we’ll visit the Jerónimos Monastery (church) and we’ll pass by the Belém Tower, both declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as the Monument to the Discoveries, a masterpiece that enhances the important characters linked to Portugal’s Golden Age.
